a great look for a great band

"I'm looking for a site that looks alive." Randy Volin told Brent Mitchell of Balanced Interactive. Randy Volin and the Sonic Blues is an exceptional Michigan based Blues Band that's been playing together since the mid 80's. With the increasing importance of the Internet in promoting bands, Randy decided it was time to develop a full featured web site.

Randy Volin and the Sonic Blues were looking for something that had a 1950's or deco look to it. The band also wanted a new logo that similarly had a 50's and vintage guitar look to it. Working closely with Randy, Balanced Interactive came up with a new site that uses lively bright red and yellow colors. To add additional life the design, animated starbursts appear when you roll over the menu buttons. The new logo abstractly resembles the shape of an electric guitar. The fonts used in the logo were carefully selected to look similar to the fonts used on many classic guitars.

Since making great music is what Randy Volin and the Sonic Blues is all about it made sense to have music playing when the visitor comes to the home page. Balanced Interactive put together a Flash piece that consists of a photomontage and a musical loop from of one of the Sonic Blues CD's.

The site has several other great features. A Discography section features Real Audio® clips of the Band's latest CDs. A "Whats Going Down" area on the home page and a Gigs page to keep fans informed of what the band is doing. The multitalented Randy Volin updates both of these pages regularly as well as several parts of the site himself! The site also has a photo section for the fans to see more of the band and its gear.
