redesign of an online bookstore

Racom Communications, a publisher of excellent marketing books, asked Balanced Interactive to redesign its online book store web site.

Racom also wanted a way to promote all of the titles in its growing book list on its home page.  To do this Balanced Interactive created a Flash book scroller that automatically scrolls book covers across the screen.  Visitors can click a book as it passes.  There are also controls to rewind or fast-forward through the books.

The textured golden page background as well as the rounded corners of the page elements gives the site’s pages a warmer friendly feel than most book related sites. To maintain readability most of the site’s text still has a white background. A light effect at the top of the page makes the Racom logo stand out and further strengthens its brand identity.
